for All Employees

It's that time of year again for employees to complete the Fall 2004 semi-annual performance appraisal and incentive payment process.¹

To be eligible to receive a performance incentive payment, full time employees must have:

Been hired on or before August 16, 2004.
Maintained satisfactory progress toward achieving established goals.
Participate in a semi-annual goal review meeting with their supervisor.
Complete the appropriate Performance Incentive Release Form and forward the signed copy of page one (NOT the entire Performance Evaluation form) to Human Resources no later than November 8, 2004. Page one of this form authorizes payment of the incentive when:
1. It is signed by the supervisor, and
2. The appropriate checkbox is checked which indicates "Performance incentive payment authorized",

Incentive payments will be issued in the December 10, 2004 payroll.

Staff Performance Incentive
The performance incentive amount is based on the following:

Full Time Staff who are:	Incentive Payment Amount
Not at the maximum of the salary grade:	Two and One-Half percent of base salary. ²
At or above the maximum of the salary grade:	One percent of base salary. ³
The performance incentive payment will be based on your total compensation from July 1, 2004, including overtime and shift differential.

Faculty Performance Incentive

Notes:
¹ Employee Performance is evaluated and incentive payments made twice per fiscal year (Fall and Spring).
² At the beginning of the next fiscal year (July 1, 2005), employees will be eligible to receive a base salary adjustment equal to the total of their incentive payments from this fiscal year. Base Salary adjustment will not include incentive amounts based on overtime and shift differential.
³ Employees who are at the top of their salary range are not eligible for the base salary adjustment.
Incentive payments and base salary adjustments are subject to funding availability as determined by the District Governing Board.

Additional information for consideration:

Employees who have not yet scheduled a semi-annual goal review meeting with their supervisor should do so as soon as possible to ensure that the November 8, 2004 deadline is met.

How would you assess your progress on achieving your goals at this point in time?
Have you experienced any barriers to achieving your goals?
What support, direction or guidance is necessary to progress toward your performance goals?
Identify areas that you would like to develop to stay current and valuable in your position?
What questions would you like to ask regarding your career, YC or your current job?
What can you and your supervisor do to ensure that your performance appraisal continues as an ongoing conversation throughout the year?
